Renal disease is one condition that does not go with a keto diet. Kidneys process much of our bodies waste. When the kidneys function is impaired, broken down parts of protein can accumulate in an unhealthy way. In fact, a low protein diet is usually prescribed to people with kidney problems (26). Therefore, if you have renal disease, a keto diet is probably not right for you.
